
Omar was born and raised in Bayamón, Puerto Rico and relocated with his parents and siblings to Central Florida in 2000. There, he attended the University of Central Florida and commissioned into the US Army through the Army ROTC program as an Engineer officer. He received training through the US Army Corps of Engineers school in construction practices, construction management, and other engineering tasks. Omar deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 as an engineer officer as a Sapper Platoon Leader conducting combat and route clearance operations. He also trained Afghan Soldiers on combat engineering and construction tasks. His Army career culminated at the rank of Captain while serving in the US Army Special Operations Command as a Psychological Operations officer. His experience in construction management varies from water and waste water pipelining to remodeling hotels and custom home building in the mountains of Colorado. He has held the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute since 2016. Omar has a passion for hunting, fishing, camping, and exploring the wonderful outdoors while sharing those experiences with his wife and two boys.
