Front Entry with Dripping Chandelier

From the moment you walk in to this modern masterpiece you are awe-struck with a great blend of modern interior design features and rustic trim.  For instance, the majority of the interior walls are stone and reclaimed lumber.  While some of the wall paper is beautifully crafted designs that are remniscent of egg shells.

Hanging in the great room is a floating chair made of glass.  The chandelier above the front entry appears to be dripping liquid metal.  The entire South wall is triple pane glass.  Installing this glass system was no easy feat.  But with the meticulous attention to detail from our crew, we pulled it off without a hitch!

Big Sky Modern Homes Come Into Style

The clean lines of modern homes are becoming en vogue in Big Sky, MT.  Though the vast majority of homes in Big Sky Country are log and timber frame, Teton Heritage Builders had the privilege of building a superb glass home in the Yellowstone Club.  The Lower Foxtail Residence is located in plain view of Big Sky Resort’s summit tram and affords a stunning view of Pioneer Mountain – the gem of the Yellowstone Club.  As Big Sky builders we relished the opportunity to bring our clients their dream home on Lone Peak.

Reid Smith Architects designed the open floor plan to draw attention to the entire South-facing wall which is entirely triple pane windows.  The highly energy efficient glazing package ensures that the home will contain heat during the winter for maximum comfort and has automatic window shades to reduce solar gain in the summer to beat the heat.  On top of the the incredible windows, the home takes advantage of renewable energy from the earth via ground source heat pumps.  Operating at 350% efficiency, the heat pumps will save 70% on annual heating and cooling costs.

Jackson Hole Builders Saving You Money

March 26, 2013

Jackson Hole Builders Spring Into Action
Jackson Hole cabin under glorious Spring sunshine.

It’s here.  Spring.  The glorious time of year where us mountain dwelling creatures come out of hibernation and bask in the glory of the sun for more than 5 hours a day.  Like true Jackson Hole builders you may know that we are like the postal service – we aren’t stopped by rain, snow nor sleet.  If timed properly we can save you money on your project by letting mother nature work on your behalf.

Inclement weather does bring a slight decrease in productivity on any job outdoors.  After all, it does take time to shovel snow off our materials at a job site when a three foot snowstorm rolls through the valley.  Framers can’t work as fast with driving rain and sleet.  So after our morning snow removal or weather abatement is done our team is as diligent as ever in working towards completing a log home of timber frame project in Jackson Hole.

Jackson Hole builders aren’t scared of the elements.  The variable weather is part of the reason that we love to live in the Rockies.  However, there are components of the construction phases that make sense to start when the weather is nice.  For example, excavation takes less time and can save you money if done during the Spring or Summer months. Similarly, framing can be done much more efficiently during the long days of summer when snow disturbances aren’t a factor.  You get the picture, I’m sure.

So if you are looking at Teton Heritage Builders to be the Jackson Hole builders for your next project we encourage you to call us on the phone or send us an email to talk about the best timeline for completing your project at the lowest cost.  Teton Heritage Builders has been in business for 17 years in Jackson Hole and have been through many iterations of scheduling.  We know how to get your project done on time and at the right price.  Let us help guide you in building your dream cabin in the Jackson Hole.

Should I Hire An Architect?

March 21, 2013

Granite Ridge Home During the planning stages of the building process you will probably ask yourself this question at one point: “Should I hire an architect?”  After building Jackson Hole and Big Sky custom homes for 17 years we have come across every type of homeowner.  From those that want to be involved in every step of the process to those who live far away and can’t wait to show up to their finished retreat.  Some want a design-build home and others want an architect to design the full spectrum of their project.  No matter what category you think that you may fall into you should investigate this topic.

There are many aspects to consider before hiring an architect for your building project, whether it is a new construction, remodel, residential or commercial building.  Some people make the mistake of taking on building projects that are beyond their scope of skills and understanding.  So we offer you nine reasons to consider when deciding “should I hire an architect”  for your project.

The topics we cover in this free white paper include Education And Experience, Vision, Creative Problem Solving, Prioritizing Building Goals, Cost Conciousness, Environmental Responsibility, Identifying Personal Needs, Clear Communication, and Project Management.

We encourage you to visit our page and download this free guide.  It is written to help any prospective homeowner make a big decision in their home building quest.  We could go write a book on this subject, but we thought it was more appropriate to boil our knowledge down into a concise article to help guide your thoughts.

So download our paper and share with your friends.  Ask for advice from your trusted friends and maybe even call up a local architect to get their input on the matter.  Home building is an involved and lengthy process and it is important to make sure you are going down the correct path.
